Operation Homefront Hugs ‘09

Post #2550 continued to pave the way for our Veterans, by participating in Operation Homefront Hugs.   Sisters Marie Komar and Sharon Hampton helped with the packing of Christmas packages with donated goods.

The event was held at the Fantasy of Flight museum, located near Polk City, Florida.  There was food and entertainment.  The highlight of the event was when the Blue Brothers, Jake and Elwood, drove up in the Blues mobile to perform and mingle with the crowd.  They made a quick departure when the county sheriff stopped by.

Participants each adopt a veteran serving overseas.  Their donation time and money ensures a veteran gets Christmas gift.  We think this is a great program and is worth participation.  Contact:  Home front Hugs USA 850 934 9984, if would like to help out.

Cootie Grand Commander Ed Silva infested Department Headquarters with bugs by presenting Le Grande Louse to Department Commander Steve Surface to hang in the foyer of the building in Ocala, for safe keeping.  We hope the infestation will take hold and the good deeds for veterans will grow.
