DD Form 214

DD Form 214:   Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, but generally referred to as a “DD 214″, is a document issued by the Defense Department of the United States upon a military service member’s retirement, separation or discharge from the active-duty military.

 

This important document is needed by service members or their families to receive any benefits due from the Veterans Administration (the VA).  To get a copy of yours, go to the following website, and follow the instructions.
